Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I’m always on the run. Whether it’s taking a quick bike ride to the beach, a random kayak trip, or even a spontaneous adventure in an intense snow storm. But that’s just me… I often forget how important it is to take a step and relax. There’s no better way to take in the scenery than in a hammock. They’re small, lightweight, and easy to set up! I take my hammock with me everywhere, even on the tiniest bike rides. You never know when you’ll come across the perfect hammock spot! The thing about hammocks is, you need trees to set it up… and that’s why this brand really hit home for me. I just recently discovered Madera, a company that does so much more than sell hammocks.
Madera not only sells products, but also has a really inspiring cause that everyone can stand behind. Madera is a company based out of Wyoming that plants two trees for every hammock sold. This helps revitalize the environment, especially places where forests have been cut down, leaving the population in danger of flooding.
Teaming up with Trees for the Future they have planted over 10,255 trees and are still planting! Along with planting trees, they teach local farmers about sustainable farming. Madera is working in Uganda, Senegal, Kenya, Tanzania, and Cameroon to help develop garden forests by equipping farming families with the necessities to both consume and sell forest products at markets. But that’s not it, Madera also provides opportunities for full time jobs to sew and design these hammocks.
I’m always searching for companies that represent more than just their products themselves. I love companies that have a cause and a purpose to help others throughout the world. I think Madera is one of those companies and I wanted to share their mission with you. I think it is important to give back and help the community around us and around the world.
If you’re as inspired as I am about the message Madera stands for you can use this link bit.ly/trekkingadventuress and the code MADERA40 to get 40% off a new hammock and also help plant two trees!
